Book Covers

June Parrish Cookson's Book Cover Designs

As an avid reader and practicing writer, I love books.
And because I love books so much, I began to create mock covers using my original hand-drawn art or photography. At first, this was all in fun. But soon after, creating them became a serious endeavor. In 2012, I sent out some of my covers via hand-made portfolios to several book publishing companies. In addition, some covers were uploaded to my Behance online site.

Now 2015, within the past few year's sending my portfolios around, I've received plentiful praise. Yet, in all honesty, I've not acquired any paid projects. And as time passes, there's the realization that the publishing companies prefer in-house or freelance experienced book cover designers. Oh well, that's to be expected of my art career. . . never the lucky one. No matter, I'll still create more covers whenever the mood strikes me.
