UPDATE: SOLD - May 2017.
Yet another vintage furniture item restored! I've hand-painted this dining buffet using my own specially formulated chalk paint recipe. In addition, as always with every piece I do, I've incorporated my own design motifs. This design is loosely based on miniature Persian manuscripts. Both design and border edges were painted with metallic gold paint. Finish coat professionally sprayed using matte varnish.
Cheers,
June
UPDATE! Dresser has SOLD as of February 2017. To view a VIDEO showcasing this piece, click June's Instagram link located on the sidebar.
A lovely hand-painted Chinoiserie inspired dresser. Purchased through our antique supplier, it dates to early 1930s era.
Dresser features my own original design executed with charming exotic pheasants and flowers in vases. Item painted with custom formulated chalk paint recipe. All hardware original.
After paint colors and design work was completed, the dresser was professionally sprayed with (flat) water-based polyurethane clear varnish.
NOTE:
before picture shows it a few days after we had brought it home. I'd already removed the original hardware. After which there began the labor-intensive process of cleaning, removing previous paint layers, and sanding followed by new paint and design work.
Okay, must return to the studio! Currently designing artwork for the next piece of furniture. It's an antique buffet. Yet another exotic inspired piece!
Stay tuned, I'll share the results with you next month. Hopefully.
Cheers,
June
