Heads up! The Chinoiserie folding floor screen on my Chairish shop has officially sold. Now gone from my possession and residing in another home, my initial thoughts seeing it loaded onto the transit truck, was filled with sadness. But time heals. It's comforting realizing that the buyer thought enough of it to actually purchase. And this certainly helps keep me inspired to continue on my creative journey. In sum, all is good. The studio shop awaits my return.

Thanks for all the lovely personal email compliments and questions received over the weeks it was available in my shop. And a big thank you to (Jaime) on purchase. In addition, Chairish! Btw, Chairish website now has the ability for visitors to leave comments regarding seller's items. So, comment away!

Cheers,
June

Note: More Chinoiserie style creations coming in the form of hand-painted textile tapestries. In addition, working on surface pattern designs for potential pillows, and lampshades. Stay tuned.

This morning. Freshly cut cosmos from the flower garden. When it comes to my first-time adventures in growing flowers for cutting, the cosmos dominant. Meaning, entering the garden nearly every day, their appearances seem to have tripled.

Then again, there are the flourishing sweet peas and Italian white sunflowers currently reaching between 6-7 foot heights. But back to the cosmos. Except for some windy weather mishaps (bent stems) and plentiful deadheading, thus far they've been the easiest plant to grow in the garden. Most importantly, free of bad bugs and disease!

While in the garden amid the cosmos, it's thrilling to watch their blossom heads sway gracefully in the breezes. Do you grow cosmos? Would like to hear about your experiences.

Note: bouquet includes lace cap hydrangea. Also, more photographs of cosmos and other flowers growing in the garden coming later.

Cheers,
~ June
UPDATE: SOLD - March 2017! An elegant vintage dresser (possibly 1920's era) refinished to bring out it's true character. This dresser was purchased from a vintage furniture dealer. Prior condition was in dire need of labor-intensive paint stripping and sanding. Afterward, I brush painted (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint) to surfaces, then my husband professionally sprayed matte varnish for protection. Normally I use my own specialty chalk paint recipes but decided this piece would be a good candidate for the popular Annie Sloan brand. The color was Old White.

In a later post, I'll share before & after pictures of this lovely dresser. It was one major task for it to end up looking so lovely. Over the moon with this piece not only by appearance but also the silky smooth surface.

Cheers,
June
