While visiting my parents, I took pictures of lilac trees in their back yard. A feast of grand loveliness. After three-hour drive return home, I went out to my yard and discovered the lilacs aren't nearly as healthy looking as their bounty. Most branches are bare of bloom including leaves, scrawny things really. Mama tells me they don't do anything to their lilacs except a bit of pruning when needed. Well, pruning I've done even assuring good soil and yet. . . time to get serious resolving the problem.
Who to help? To begin, these to venture:
Growing and Picking Lilacs (my favorite gardener ~ Sarah Raven)
Martha Stewart (article about Lilacs)
Happy Friday!
